I’m a Senior iOS Engineer at ZALORA, working from Vietnam. I started shipping production iOS in 2019, a few years before I finished the degree that says I could.

01 2019 — 2021 CodeDock

Learning in production

I dropped out and started working. At CodeDock I designed a composable UIKit design system and untangled client-server sync with plain object-oriented patterns so several teams could extend it without touching the core. I also put in the Makefiles, shell scripts and GitHub Actions pipelines nobody had asked for. The tooling habit started here.

The work taught me to look past the screen: a good abstraction is the one that lets the next person move faster.

02 2021 — 2025 Codigo

Lead, and the productivity problem

Four years leading iOS at Codigo, running off-shore teams across client projects on hard deadlines. I used meta-programming, Swift package plugins, preview apps, hot reloading, modularisation and caching to make the work easier to ship.

The part I am most pleased with is not code: knowledge sharing and code review that helped people grow, and a team culture where tests were part of the work rather than an afterthought.

03 Greenwich finished late

The degree I went back for

Gap years, work, then back to study. I finished a First Class B.Sc (Hons) in Computing at the University of Greenwich later than most, already working as an engineer by then.

My final-year project was a custom iOS browser built directly on WebKit, inspired by what Arc was doing to the address bar. It is the clearest sign of where my interest actually sits: specialised, high-performance tools rather than general-purpose apps.

04 2025 — now ZALORA

Depth, at scale

Senior iOS Engineer in a cross-functional Customer-Growth squad, plus platform chapter work. I led the architectural revamp of a TikTok-like feed: an endless, multi-directional scrolling list that keeps content moving smoothly under pressure.

I modernised a legacy Objective-C and Swift project into decoupled XcodeGen modules with preview apps. Outside ZALORA, I’m teaching myself the systems around the app: Go, AWS, Terraform, and Ansible.

05 Conviction → next

Behind the screen

Three companies, one throughline: at every single one I ended up building the tooling. That is not a coincidence any more, it is the direction. Build systems, workflow automation, SwiftNIO and Swift on the server, and the infrastructure underneath.

SOLID is mostly right. A mandatory ViewModel for every screen is not. I care about deep modules and low cognitive load, and I would rather ship a clean-enough feature today than spend three weeks abstracting a network call that changes next month. Where that instinct leads next is platform and tooling teams, mobile architecture, or developer relations.
